A Christmas present I would like to get

"HO, HO, HO"

I love surprises, and I love presents. For me, presents represent how someone else sees you and how that person really knows you; people who gives you presents are giving it to you because they know that it’s going to like you.

It’s true, giving presents might be complicated, because sometimes you don’t have time or money to get the present that you would like to give. That’s why I try, when it’s possible, to make a present myself to give it to my friends and family.

So, the Christmas present I would like to receive would be a present that was made or bought with love and caring by someone. The best part of this is that it could be anything, I really don’t care the present I’ll receive this Christmas, I don’t want or expect anything, because if I expect something in particular and I don’t receive it, I will be disappointed or sad, and that’s not the point in giving or receiving a present. You just have to be grateful that you care enough to someone and that person thought of something that could like you and that you could enjoy.

Summer Plans

Se détendre

My summer plans aren’t a big deal for me, there not something I worried about or think of with anticipation, just because I don’t have the chance to go to places where I would like to go. If it would be after me, I would go to Rapa Nui, Brazil or some place in Chile. I’ve only visited San Antonio or Las Cruces so I have the desire to visit wherever I’m invited.

I’ve actually been invited to Osorno in February and I’m hoping this plan works out. I would go with my boyfriend, because he’s the best company to have beside me and my friend who lives in Osorno and invited with his boyfriend.

Been honest, I don’t know the things that we would do together, probably sleeping and eating will be our priorities but even if we’re not sure, I know for certain that we will have a great time together.

Something that I’m sure we won’t do would be working or studying, I’ve had enough this year with classes and assignments to do, so I am going to clear my mind and breath fresh air.

Maybe, we could visit some volcanos and lakes that are around Osorno, I’ve never been there so everything will be new for me, everything will be a surprise! Just like a little kid in a candy store.

I hope this trip help me to enjoy my vacations, so I can be prepare for the year that comes for me, with a lot more works and a lot more responsibilities, and surprises of course.

My favorite piece of art

"La tristesse durera toujours"

In my opinion, the most beautiful and perfect piece of art that exist in the world! It’s Vincent Van Gogh’s The starry night. This piece of art in specific has a movement and an intensity that I love, because you can feel the sky moving and you can see the stars shining; this painting has a life on it’s own.

Vincent Van Gogh was a post-impressionist painter, who fought his way through recognition and fame during his life, and finally having the respect and influence in modern art after his death in 1890.

Van Gogh painted over two thousands paintings in his career and specialized in watercolor to paint all kinds of styles, like self-portraits, portraits, cypresses, flowering Orchards, flowers and wheat fields. We can watch his art at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.

In his last year of life he "had fits of despair and hallucination during which he could not work, and in between them, long clear months in which he could and did, punctuated by extreme visionary ecstasy” .

Even with all his sadness and mental problems, Van Gogh gave us extraordinary paintings that transmit us his perspective of the world, a world that, through his eyes, it’s complex but at the same time, worth of looking at and keep discovering. The starry night it’s the clear example of that.

A Photograph I Like

say *fromage*!!

The photograph I’m showing to you guys was taken by myself. This photograph is recent, about a week ago, when I went to an Exposition, from The Ann & Gabriel Barbier- Mueller Museum: Samurai Collection, at “Centro Cultural La Moneda”, located in Santiago.
This photograph shows a helmet that was used by ancient samurais in the 18th century, and I loved it. You can see the details in this piece of armor, the material and colors that represented the relevance and delicacy for the Japanese warriors when it came the moment to fight. I was so amazed by the beauty of this samurai helmet that I decided to take a picture to share it with my family and friends, and now you.
I’ve never visited any museum that had this kind of exposition, so I took the chance to take as many photographs that I could and remember forever this visit. I think it’s always important to know and learn about other cultures, and I hope you have the opportunity to go to this Exposition some time.

What would I do if I won the Lottery?

Qui veut être un milliardaire?

What would I do if I won the lottery? Mmm, first we’ll have to specify how money, hypothetically, I won. Let’s say I won 100 million Chilean pesos; for me, it’s a considerable amount of money to live without any worries for the rest of my existence.
With that money in my power, the first thing I would do would be to find a place to live, somewhere small and simple, near my family and friends. Then I would invest some of it in the stock-market because I would have the opportunity to increase my money in the long term.
With that money saved for my future, I would finish my studies in the University, continue to study in some post degree. Then, the fun begins.
I would travel around the world and work in my specialty: Education. I would learn how the Education is considered in other countries, if it is important for them or how they create and implement public politics based in the education.
While I travel I could buy books, stay in fancy hotels, buy expensive clothes and shoes, meet interesting people, learn new languages, and eat in famous restaurants and resorts.

Of course, to win the lottery I would have to play it first, but I need money to buy lottery tickets and that’s the problem. But, for now, I can keep dreaming about a life I would only be possible to have with a lot, a LOT, of money.

My Super Power

Riposter

Fire has been an element that I’ve always been interested of. It represents an intensity and passion that I would love to control; somehow, this ability would make me powerful and capable of many things, not evil things (I think so) but good and useful things for people.

For example, I could save lives. If a person or an entire family is trapped in a house on fire, I could control the fire and let them out. Or if I’m walking on the street at night and I see someone being robbed I would throw fire at the thief, without killing him, or her, if it’s possible.

The only bad effect this super power could bring to me is the possibility of getting uncontrollable or make me go obsessive from all the things I’ll be able to do.

If I’m able to control fire, I could use it for good. But I don’t know if this ability would change me and transform me into some kind of villain or criminal if I ever have it. So, I’ll have to wait to see…

The best holiday so far

Pourquoi pas?

Last summer I spent my holiday at Las Cruces, Valparaiso, where I went with my partner and stayed at a little cabin.

For a week or so, we watched a lot of series and movies; we also slept a lot and ate delightful food (improvise and prepared by ourselves) One day we went to a restaurant near San Antonio, where we tasted fresh fish while we looked at the magnificent view; lots of boats, people and, of course, the majestic blue ocean accompanied us while we were eating.

The night after we left the house to come back to reality, we went to the beach. There weren’t many people at that time of the day, so we decided to stay in there for a while; we sat on the sand and talked, laughed, imagined things and looked at the ocean, until we got cold enough to decide to come back and rest.

If I could describe this holiday with one word it would be irreplaceable. I couldn’t believe the awesome experience I had during that short but necessary week with the best company I could ever wish for.
